Cleansing Rituals for Fall

Updated: Oct 7

As we begin to spend more time in our homes as the weather gets cooler, this is an incredible time to do a home energy cleanse for your home! We've talked a lot about cleansing your home with smoke from herbs and incense, but there are so many other ways as well.

One way to be cleanse and protect is through using essential oils. Room and energy clearing sprays often use them to help clear stagnant energy and infuse the space with a new and refreshed feeling. You can also use essential oils and oil blends to anoint your home and yourself. This is excellent to add extra layers of protection and grounding when you are feeling emotionally vulnerable or anxious. You can also include a few drops of essential oils into water and vinegar to create a witch wash to clean the floor or wipe down surfaces and clear energy.

Our recipe for Witch's Wash looks like this:

1/4 Cup of Distilled Vinegar

2 Tablespoons of Witch Hazel

Approximately 20-30 Drops of Essential Oils

3 Cups of hot water

What is great about this recipe is that you can make your own mix to fit whatever energetic intentions you have as you clean! Looking to create a space for peace and calm, consider using lavender and neroli. Want to add some protection and good luck, try adding clove or cinnamon essential oils. If you want to ensure you are energetic clearing things, be sure to add Sage, Palo santo, or even Cedar to add the clearing element!

The next option to help clear your home is through salt. Salt does an amazing job clearing energy off of not only crystals, but your home as well. You can place piles of salt in the corners of your home and allow them to soak up any heavy or negative energy over a day or two. Then vacuum or sweep up the salt and dispose of it in your outdoor garbage. This ensures the energy is removed from your home and leaves it a clean and open energetic slate. You can also sprinkle salt across the threshold of your home to help with additional protection and cleansing of energy as it enters your home.

One last way to help cleanse your home is through incorporating magic into your actual cleaning practices. One of the best ways to clear the energy in your home is to clean and shift the physical items in your home before you do any type of energetic clearing. This will help disrupt energy stagnant that has built up in the items, and get it ready to be shifted from your home. Once you do this level of physical cleaning, you can start to clear the energy with something like sound, smoke, or a spray. Once you have started shifting and clearing the energy, try energetic sweeping. Using a broom, sweep throughout your house about 2 inches above the floor. Once you have gathered all the energy, sweep it out of your front or backdoor to clear the stagnant energy. You can also do this with any front of back porches!

Simmer Pots are another incredible way to refresh the energy in your home all throughout the cooler months! Simmer Pots typically include a wide variety of herbs, spices, and plants that when boiled all together infuse your home with different warm energy.
