Self Care for the Full Moon in Taurus

Full Moon in Taurus with Moon

November 15th is the Full Moon in Taurus. This is a time to focus on the basics and simple pleasures in life in order to ground and take care of yourself. Scorpio is a complex sign that often inspires deep internal reflection, as its counterpart, Taurus focuses on the physical here and now. It is a sign of nurturing and growth in the real world. During this full moon, allow yourself to spend time grounding to come back into yourself.

So what does that actually look like? There are many different forms of self care, including physical, social, emotional, and mental self care. For this Full Moon the key is using your physical body to help support the rest of you. This month began with high tensions and for many a deep sadness and place of anxiety, all of these things very easily pull us out of the present moment in our physical body which only leads to more anxiety and running thoughts. To help balance that, we want to lean into Taurus’s energy of grounded nurturing.

This means starting with the basics and grounding yourself back into your body. Going for a walk, wearing or working with Root Chakra (black, brown, and red) stones, sitting or standing on the ground, or listening to some grounding frequencies all help your mind refocus back to the present moment. Even something as simple as repeating the phrases: “I live in the present. I am grounded in the here and now,” can help you feel more connected to your body.

Once you are more grounded, try supporting yourself through acts of physical self care. If you are a soak in the tub kind of person, grab your favorite Epsom Salts and let your body absorb the nourishing minerals. If you feel most connected to your body when you have a good workout, try to find an exercise class or make time to go to the gym to help support yourself. Love to cook? Create your favorite meal with foods that grow in the ground like root vegetables and leafy greens! If you are an artist, I’ve also found that getting into a deeply meditative space while painting or drawing can be grounding as well.

After your body feels supported I always like to include an additional practice or two that helps to calm the mind and reflect on how I am feeling. Full Moons tend to bring out intense emotions, and creating time and space to process those can be very cathartic. One of my favorite ways is through journaling, especially if you tend to be an internal processor, getting the thoughts out of your mind is a game changer. Any additional practices like pulling Tarot or Oracle cards can help provide some additional reflection.
