This week we are focusing on filling the little moments of your week with intentional care. Michelle and I get to live this beautiful life that involves hand picking crystals for you, like we are this week at the Denver Mineral show. When we first started going on these buys, we would find ourselves quickly slipping out of our supportive habits and practices, leaving the trip feeling really burnt out and tired. During our last Denver trip, in 2023, we decided to put some intention and energy into leaving the trip feeling recharged, even with all the work and energy output involved. We made a plan, asking ourselves what tools we find most supportive, even if we just had 5-15 minutes in the morning and evening to use them. When I think of my self care these days, I think of myself having a little energetic tool box, filled with all different things that leave me feeling more connected to myself, my heart and my current goals or momentum.
What did I pack in my tool box this time around?
Creature Comforts
Crystals
I love a good crystal, obviously. So before leaving on any trip, I check in with my body about where I would like a little extra support. This trip I am focusing on tuning in with my intuition, feeling connected to my higher self as I make the best decisions possible for the store and our community. I packed a beautiful lapis palm stone to sleep with and hold in the morning, so be my intuition buddy. I also packed my fluorite bracelet combo, to remind me to focus on trusting myself, my voice and my inner knowing throughout our long days of purchasing. The last goodie I made sure to bring with was my citrine mini pendant, set in gold. I am calling in all the abundance, magic and aid in our manifestations on this trip - connecting all these decisions back to my gut instincts and knowing.
Journal
Michelle spends a few minutes every morning journaling about her intentions for the day. Whenever she does this, things seem to flow more easefully for her. We both made sure to pack our journal and connect to our pages at some point during the day.
Body Support
At the show, we walk anywhere from 20,000-30,000 steps a day. Even with the best shoes and training beforehand - it takes a toll on our bodies. We make sure to bring out acupressure mats with (for our backs and feet), along with a lacrosse ball to help rub out any tight muscles. These would have seemed like too much when I thought about traveling before - but now I would leave behind extra clothing if I had to, in order to have the physical support I needed.
Tea
If you have met either Michelle or myself, you know that we are OBSESSED with tea. Currently we are sipping on all our favorite cups of tea from Magic Hour Club. We have a travel tea setup that Always comes with us. This helps to support that routine and consistency that connects to a grounded feeling of home, even while on the road.
Intentional Action
This is really a mindset that we pack when setting off for a trip. I take moments at the beginning and end of my day to check in with my body, stretch, meditate, breathe and slow down. I allow and encourage myself to actively rest when I can.
During the actual show, when we are buying, I take little moments to bask in the sunlight, put my inner child glasses on and play with the “cool rocks”, we bring snacks and always make sure we are fueling our body. These are little, slight things that have made all the difference in our energy levels and capacity during these intense travel days.
Curiosity Led Adventure
We travel to the coolest places and in the past spent all of our time at the shows and sitting at restaurants. At the end of our last trip, we did a hike just before leaving Denver and had the best time! We are going to be making very conscious choices about how our days are filled - making sure to breath in some mountain air, hop on the trails, eat food that gives us joy/fuels us and that we have fun! Life is all about how you choose to experience it and I am done waiting to enjoy things until the circumstances are perfect. So we will be enjoying and celebrating the beautiful nature around us, while also finding the best possible crystals for you and the store!
